HENRICO, VA—A gun was found on Highland Springs High School's campus Monday afternoon, and two students were detained.
A school security guard found the gun near a dumpster in the school's parking lot and then alerted a school resource officer, Henrico County School officials said.
Two students were detained at the school, and one of those students is now in police custody.
The school is located at 15 South Oak Avenue, Highland Springs.
It is unclear if charges will be filed. Police continue to question students. No one was injured in the incident.
The Henrico County Public School System is set to participate in a safety and security forum next week, Thursday, January 17.
