RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A Richmond development official says an archaeological review of the Washington Redskins summer training camp site hasn't found anything of consequence.
Richmond Economic Development Authority board chairman Rich Johnson tells the Richmond Times-Dispatch that excavation and grading work will begin after the review is completed this week.
The Redskins have agreed to hold their summer training camp in Richmond for the next eight years as part of an economic incentive deal struck with the state. The camp will be built on state-owned land behind the Science Museum of Virginia.
Construction is expected to cost up to $10 million.
