Hopewell, VA—A verbal altercation turned violent
Wednesday afternoon, when a male victim was shot in the abdomen.
The shooting took place near the intersection of Texas Street and South 8th Avenue. Preliminary
investigation finds that the incident may have started as a verbal altercation
on a basketball court in the Thomas
Rolfe Court housing development.
The suspect is described as a black male 16-21 years old, with a thin build
and short hair. He stands 5'9"-6'0" tall, and was last seen wearing gray pants
and a black shirt.
Anyone with information about the suspect or this shooting is asked to
