Richmond, VA—A local man won $1 million in the Virginia Lottery Powerball drawing, making him the eight million-dollar winner in the Commonwealth within eight weeks!
Keith Copeland of Disputanta matched the first five numbers in the January 12 Powerball drawing; he missed winning the jackpot by just one number.
Copeland bought the ticket at Salem Market store in Petersburg. He returned to the store to cash his check on January 15, and the store received a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays, and can be watched on WRIC TV8. For more information about the Virginia Lottery, please visit www.valottery.com.
