Chesterfield, VA--A Florida teen is behind bars, after police say he stabbed three people as well as himself during an incident at a Chesterfield home early Sunday morning.

Chesterfield Police were called to the 5300 block of Demotte Lane at about 1:45 a.m. January 20, for reports of a stabbing. A witness, Jacob Sites, told 8News that it all began with an argument between 18-year-old Jared Coffey and his friends.

"They were just trying to restrain him from harming the female," Sites explained, saying that Coffey was threatening an unidentified woman.

When two friends tried to restrain him, Coffey allegedly stabbed them, as well as the woman. Sites jumped into action after the crime.

"I ran over there and picked up my home girl and carried her to my couch with her blood all over my body and everywhere else. And then I had to pick my brother up and carry him inside the house."

Evidence of a violent scene are visible in the form of blood stains on the pavement in front of the home.

In the commotion, Coffey accidentally stabbed himself, too. He, along with the three victims, were treated at local hospitals. The injuries of two of the victims were considered critical.

Coffey was charged with three counts of malicious wounding, and is currently being held at the Riverside Regional Jail.

The investigation of this incident continues. Police ask anyone with information about it to contact

Chesterfield County Police at 748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 748-0660.
