HENRICO, VA—Residents of a motel in Henrico County's East End have returned to their rooms after police briefly evacuated the building following a report of a hostage situation.
Henrico County Police responded to the Econo-Lodge on Williamsburg Road for a report of a hostage situation.
Police arrived on scene and evacuated the motel just before 8 a.m. Monday.
When police made contact with the subject inside the room, it was determined the male was not armed and was not holding a female hostage, as previously reported to police.
Henrico County Police said the individual is believed to have suffered from a mental health event.
