Chesterfield, VA—A man accused of attempting to rape a woman in a nightclub parking lot Sunday has been arrested and charged.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m., police were called to Visions Dance Club, located at 1021 Kroger Center Boulevard, for a report of an attempted rape.
The 49-year-old female victim was getting something out of her car when she says 44-year-old Richard Broaddus approached her and tried to sexually assault her.
The victim screamed, and several people inside the club came to her aid, and the suspect fled. The woman was not hurt during the incident.
Police detained a man matching the description of the suspect during a traffic stop, and the victim identified him.
Broaddus, of the 5900 block of Essling Road, was arrested and charged with attempted rape.
