Richmond, VA—The death investigation of a man thought to have perished in a fire has been reclassified as a homicide, as police search for a woman connected to the case.
On Saturday, December 8, police and fire crews responded to a fire at a home located at 3219 Cofer Road. After the blaze was extinguished, the body of Walter J. Boone, 77, was found.
A woman who police consider a person of interest was last seen with Boone before his death. Police would like to identify and interview her.
This woman is described as a light-skinned African-American, standing about five feet six inches tall. She has scars on her right cheek.
This brings the total number of homicides for 2012 to 43.
