Chesterfield, VA—Two firefighters
suffered minor injuries while battling an attic fire late Monday morning; two
residents of the home escaped without being hurt.
Crews
arrived to the home in the 9700 block of Salem Church Road shortly after 11:30 a.m.
Heavy smoke was seen coming from the roof of the home, and firefighters
determined that the blaze was coming from the attic.
There
were two people inside the home at the time of the incident, who escaped
without injury and called emergency crews to the scene.
While
working to contain the fire, two firefighters were injured; one firefighter's
neck was injured, while the other sustained minor burns on his face. Both of
them were transported to MCV for treatment of their non life-threatening
injuries.
