RICHMOND, VA-- A Richmond house fire displaced three people Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out at a home in the 1600 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike near Fairfield Way in Richmond.
The fire started on the second floor of the home. The home sustained significant damage, according to fire officials.
Everyone was able to get out of the home safely, and no one was injured in the fire.
The fire started due to an overloaded extension cord, fire officials said.
