Your sick coworker can infect more than half of your office's commonly touched surfaces all before lunchtime, according to a new study.

The study found more than half of an office's commonly touched surfaces– like doorknobs, buttons on the copy machine, the break room fridge – can become infected with a virus in just four hours.

Conducted at the University of Arizona, the study also found proper hand washing and using hand sanitizer can drastically reduce one's risk of infection.

Coffee pot handles, telephones, desktops and tabletops were found to be some of the germiest places.

Just last week, there were 48 reported cases of the norovirus. Learn more about the virus and how you can help protect yourself HERE.
