CHESTERFIELD, VA—Chesterfield County Police have arrested a man they say impersonated an officer and pulled over a young driver Tuesday night.

Nicholas R. Solferino, 19, of the 16000 block of Hidden Sedge Court, was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer.

Police say Solferino followed a teenage driver and then got the young boy to pull over his vehicle Tuesday night. It happened in the Woodlake subdivision off Woolridge Road on Tuesday night.

When the vehicle pulled over, police say Solferino approached the victim and stated he was an undercover Chesterfield Police Officer and said he would have the boy monitored by radar.

It's an incident that had neighbors worried.

"You never know who you will find next to you on the road," Sophie Lanniel said.

If you ever feel uncomfortable, officers say call Police and drive to a well-lit area.

"Now when my kids are outside playing I want to come watch them a little bit closer," said neighbor Beth Coleson.
