RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The Children's Museum of Richmond is hoping to engage and educate visitors with a new motorsports-themed exhibit.
The museum partnered with Richmond International Raceway to create an interactive, exhibit that will spend several months at each of the museum's three metro Richmond locations.
An official opening ceremony will be held at the Chesterfield location on Tuesday. It will feature former NASCAR driver and Emporia resident Hermie Sadler.
Reports that a four-piece exhibit features information on the flags used during NASCAR races and other historical facts.
Visitors also have a chance to sit inside an actual race car and even build small-scale race cars.
The traveling exhibit will move to the museum's central location in Richmond around late April and then on to the Short Pump location.
