Richmond, VA—Police say speed was a factor in a fatal Cary Street Road crash Saturday night, which left two men dead.

The vehicle's only passengers were 26-year-old Nathaniel Daigle and 25-year-old Joel Forshaw. Both men died at the scene.

The accident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m., as the vehicle traveled east in the 5100 block of Cary Street. The car left the road, and struck several trees, before spinning and coming to a rest in the middle of the road.

It is believed that Joel Forshaw was a student at Virginia Commonwealth University.

The Richmond Police Department Crash Team believed that speed was a facto in the accident, although it remains under investigation.
