8News has learned that Texas authorities confirm Geronimo Aguilar is in custody, after surrendering without incident at his home in Richmond Tuesday afternoon. Two warrants had been issued for Aguilar's arrest earlier in the week...More >>
Prince Edward, VA-A student at Prince Edward High School was removed from the school after reportedly making a threatening statement, school officials said.
School officials said the student allegedly made the threatening comments Friday, and school officials were noticed of the reported threat Monday.
Law enforcement was notified by the school following an investigation, it was determined students and staff were not in danger and no weapons were found, the school said.
Many parents have contacted 8News over the reported threat. 8News reporter Amy Aubert is following this story and will have much more Tuesday on 8News.

The Prince Edward County Public Schools Superintendent released the following statement Tuesday:
This communication is to inform our community of a recent event. Mid-day yesterday, February 11, the high school administration received a report that a student, on Friday, February 8 made a threatening statement in a conversation. The matter was immediately referred to law enforcement when it was received by administrators, and a thorough investigation was made. The student was removed from school, and the matter was concluded late last night. There was no evidence of weapons, and at no time was any Prince Edward student or staff member at risk of harm.
