VIRGINIA BEACH - A Virginia Beach pizza shop is offering a discount for customers who carry guns.

All Around Pizzas and Deli at 3501 Holland Road posted the coupon on its website. It says "Show us you carry openly, or show us a concealed weapons permit," and you get 15 percent off your order.

Jay Laze is the owner and explains he was robbed at gunpoint outside his store in April 2007. After that happened, he bought a gun.

Laze says he has always been a gun-rights advocate.

The idea has its supporters and detractors who posted comments on the restaurant's Facebook page.

"Thanks for supporting the 2nd amendment!" Lorie Fish wrote. Adam Frymoyer noticed the from miles away."I wish an establishment like yours would follow your suit with the 15% "gun owner" discount here in PA. Would attract much more business I'm sure! Great Job. Bravo Zulu."

"Yet, people like you are a perfect example of dividing this country based on your obsession, while people and children are dying in Malls, Theatres, and 1st grade classrooms. You'll think this is a great idea till some idiot comes in with a gun and it accidentally goes off and hits a customer. Think it wouldn't happen? Think again. It happens at Gun Shows, why wouldn't it happen in your restaurant. REALLY stupid." Jay Sutphin wrote.

The offer comes as gun rights is a hot topic in the Virginia and North Carolina general assemblies and in Washington, DC. President Obama is calling on Congress to hold a vote on gun control measures in the name of victims of gun violence.
