FARMVILLE, Va. – At 04:50 this morning, firefighters from the Farmville, Hampden-Sydney, Rice, and Prospect Fire Departments responded to a blaze at the La Parota Mexican Restaurant in the Town of Farmville.
First arriving units noted heavy fire through the roof at the rear of the structure which spread quickly through the attic space. The blaze was brought under control in 90 minutes as crews performed extensive overhaul to the structure.
No injuries are reported and no employees were inside the building at the time of the incident. There is no current estimate on the dollar loss of the structure.
The fire is being jointly investigated by the Farmville Fire Department and the Town of Farmville Building Official's Office and is considered accidental at this time.
