WINCHESTER, Va. (AP) - The president of the Student Government Association at Shenandoah University has been removed from office.
The SGA House of Delegates' voting members recently voted to impeach and remove Nigel Huckle following hazing allegations.
The allegations involved Alpha Psi Omega, a national honorary dramatic society. Huckle is the group's treasurer.
Huckle tells The Winchester Star (http://bit.ly/YkrDlPV ) that the event involved requiring prospective members to memorize the society's history and recite it. He said he would quiz them and demand to know why they hadn't memorized the history when they forgot their lines or made a mistake.
He says society members wouldn't have done it if they had known it was hazing.
Huckle is a senior music theater major.
