Richmond Singer Randy Blythe Acquitted In Fan's Death

Posted: Updated:

RICHMOND, VA. -Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe is a free man after being acquitted on charges that he caused a fan's death at a concert in the Czech Republic.

Richmond singer Randy Blythe was acquitted by Praqgue's Municipal Court on charges that he caused bodily harm to another person with lethal consequences, court spokesman, Marketa Puci, confirmed Tuesday.

Blythe was accused of pushing a 19-year-old fan from the stage during a 2010 concert at Prague's Abaton club. The man later died of a head injury.

The Richmond-based band's manager Larry Mazer said in a December statement that Blythe responded professionally to the large number of fans who rushed the stage amid lax security.

Prosecutors, who had demanded a five-year prison term for Blythe, have appealed the verdict.
