RICHMOND, VA –A teenage suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old male victim on Decatur Street on Saturday; the suspect faces a variety of charges, including attempted murder.
On Saturday, March 2 at approximately 10 p.m., the victim was gunned down while walking home from a party at the corner of 11th and Decatur Streets in Richmond. He was taken to VCU Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
Police say the suspect and victim had both attended the large party, held in the 1300 block of Hull Street. The two had a verbal altercation before the shooting.
On Monday, the U.S. Marshals Regional Task Force arrested a 15-year-old suspect in connection to the shooting. His charges include: attempted murder, aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
The suspect is being held in the Chesterfield County Juvenile Detention Center. The victim remains hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.
