Thousands Attend State Trooper's Funeral

Petersburg - A Virginia State Police trooper slain in the line of duty was honored by thousands at his funeral Tuesday.

An estimated crowd of 3,000 attended memorial services for Master Trooper Junius A. Walker at the Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Petersburg. Among the attendees was Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, as well as law enforcement representatives from as far away as California. 

A private burial service was held in Brunswick County following the service.

Master Trooper Junius A. Walker was shot and killed inside his patrol car on Interstate 85 Thursday afternoon. The suspect remains behind bars without bond pending a trial.
