To our viewers: We are making progress!
As we first told you, several weeks ago the antenna at our transmitter site suffered damage in a storm, forcing us to greatly reduce the strength of our broadcast signal.
A temporary antenna was put into place, and the result was the return of the WRIC signal to many of our viewers. As you can imagine, this is a very involved process, with each antenna weighing more than 20,000 pounds. We've included a video so you may see the scope of this project.
This week, two antennas were brought down. One will go back up Saturday morning, weather permitting. The damaged one has been shipped to Maine to be rebuilt. We are hopeful this rebuilding process will not take long.
We will continue to update you as new information becomes available. If you do have individual questions, please feel free to contact our engineering department at (804) 330-8899.
We appreciate your continued patience as we work diligently to get back to full strength. In the meantime, much of the ABC programming you are missing can be seen online HERE.
