Chesterfield, VA—Nearly 1,000 pounds of expired and unused medications were collected during a Medication Take-Back event on Saturday.
Chesterfield County Police partnered with Bon Secours St. Watkins Center and Chesterfield's substance abuse prevention coalition SAFE to help residents dispose of prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
In total, 997 pounds of unused, potentially harmful medications were collected by volunteers. 291 Chesterfield residents participated by dropping off medications.
The event was held at Bon Secours St. Francis Watkins Center, and lasted four hours.
