Richmond Woman Killed In Spotsylvania Crash

Spotsylvania, VA—A Richmond woman was killed in a fatal crash in Spotsylvania Wednesday night; the wreck sent a Spotsylvania woman to the hospital.

Virginia State Police responded to the two-vehicle crash on Smith Station Road in Spotsylvania March 27 at approximately 9:05 p.m.

A 2005 Ford Focus was traveling northbound on the road, when it crossed into the opposite, southbound lane and struck a 2002 Chrysler Town & County van.

The Ford's driver, 33-year-old Elena N. Clark of Richmond, was transported to Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. She died of her injures at approximately 12:25 a.m. Clark was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Chrysler's driver, 49-year-old Patricia Anne Comden of Spotsylvania, was transported to Mary Washington Hospital. Her condition is unknown.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
