HENRICO, VA—Henrico County Police have arrested two men in connection with a rash of vehicle break-ins and larcenies from the county's West End.
Thomas Brian Newby, 32, of the 5200 block of Whetstone Road in Richmond, was arrested and charged with eight counts of larceny and seven counts of vandalism to a vehicle Wednesday.
Cody Sebastian Haun, 23, of the 11000 block of Merganser Terrance in Chesterfield, was arrested and charged with five counts of larceny and five counts of vandalism to a vehicle Thursday.
The two men were arrested in connection with a rash of larcenies from vehicles Henrico County's West End, according to police.
Forty reports of larcenies from vehicles have been reported in Western Henrico County, since February 12.
Police said Newby and Haun were identified through surveillance photos. Detectives continue their investigation and additional charges may be placed at a later time.
Henrico County Police are starting a "Stop and Lock" campaign, encouraging residents to keep vehicle doors locked at all times.
"We need to remember that thieves are always looking for an opportunity. Whether it's a car door, a garage door, a thief is going to take that opportunity to go ahead and take something," Linda Toney of Henrico Police said.
