Richmond Teacher, 25 Others Arrested In Prostitution Sting

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA—More than two dozen people, including a Richmond City Public Schools teacher, were arrested as part of an undercover prostitution sting along the Midlothian Turnpike corridor in Chesterfield County.
Twenty-six people were arrested on more than 30 criminal charges, including solicitation of prostitution and various drug charges Thursday.
A teacher at Huguenot High School, whose name has not been released, was among those arrested, Richmond City Public Schools Chairman Jeffrey Bourne confirmed Friday.
The teacher has been placed on administrative leave, school officials said.
The operation targeted illegal sex trade police said was openly advertised on websites like Craigslist.com and Backpage.com.
The Chesterfield County Police Department, with the Henrico County Police Division, the Department of Homeland Security (ICE) and the FBI, conducted the undercover operation along the Midlothian Turnpike corridor in Chesterfield County on Thursday, March 28.
Chesterfield County Police will continue random undercover operations in areas of the county where prostitution activity is occurring.
