Richmond, VA—Employees of a local McDonald's thought quickly when a man robbed the restaurant early Sunday morning; the employees struck the man, and detained him in a storage area until police arrived.
At approximately 6:13 a.m., a man police identify as 39-year-old Keith S. Henderson of Richmond, entered the McDonald's restaurant at 821 Hull Street. Henderson allegedly brandished a gun and demanded money.
An employee struck Henderson with a metal object, knocking him down. Other employees proceeded to strike Henderson; they then forced him into a storage area and detained him there until Richmond Police arrived and arrested him.
Henderson was transported to VCU Medical Center for treatment of the minor injuries he received during the incident.
Henderson has been charged with robbery.
