Brunswick, VA—Police have released the names of three of the five people killed in a head-on collision on I-85 in Brunswick County on Tuesday.
Davindra Jailall, 32, of New York, was killed when the vehicle he was driving was struck head-on by a wrong-way driver early Tuesday morning, according to Virginia State Polcie.
Krishna Maniram, 51, of New York, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was also killed in the wreck.
Police say Walter Edward Skinner, 70, of Richmond, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-85 when he struck an oncoming vehicle head-on. Skinner, who police say was wearing his seatbelt, died in the wreck.
The names of two others killed in the crash have not yet been released. Police said all five were killed upon impact.
The wreck happened just before 6:00 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 85 in Brunswick County, according to Virginia State Police. Officers were responding to a 911 call reporting a wrong-way driver, but the wreck occurred before officers could arrive.
It's currently unknown if alcohol or any other factors contributed to the cause of the wreck, according to police.
