Several Richmond homes and businesses could be without running water Sunday evening, as crews work to repair water valves. Read the following release from the Department of Public Utilities explaining the project:
Sunday, April 7, 2013, the Department of Public Utilities' Water Distribution Group will be replacing 12 water valves along W. Broad Street from Boulevard west to MacTavish Avenue. Work will start by 11 a.m. on Sunday morning, but water will not be interrupted until 3 p.m. The interruption in water service is expected to last for 3 to 4 hours, with restoration being complete by 11 p.m. Sunday evening.
Customers impacted by this interruption includes those located on the north side of W. Broad Street from Boulevard west to the 195 overpass; and MacTavish Avenue, Highpoint Avenue, Summit Avenue, Altamont Avenue, and North Sheppard Street, all from W. Broad Street to Marshall Street.
The east and west left bound lanes of W. Broad Street from Boulevard west to MacTavish Avenue will be blocked, leaving the outer two lanes open to traffic going east and west.
If you have questions or concerns, call 3-1-1 and at the prompt, select "water emergency" for further details.
