Dinwiddie Shooting Leaves 1 Dead; Gunman Sought

DINWIDDIE, VA—The Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office is searching for the gunman who shot and killed a man late Sunday night.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2500 block of Dinwiddie Avenue near Boydton Plank Road in West Petersburg.

When officers arrived, they found Corey Vann Mills, 30, of Dinwiddie County, lying beside the roadway suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

Officers say Mills lived on the same block as the shooting.

The victim's body was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office in Richmond for an autopsy.
