Chesterfield, VA—Chesterfield County fire crews remain at the scene of a 75-acre brush fire that burned along Route 288 and Courthouse Road on Wednesday.

The fire is under control and contained, but crews remain on scene monitoring "hot spots" that may flare up.

The fire burned at least 75 acres Wednesday afternoon and impacted traffic as crews shutdown traffic lanes to fight the fire.

Courthouse Road was temporarily closed from Iron Bridge Road to Route 288. Route 288 was also closed in both directions from the Courthouse Road exit to the Iron Bridge Road exit.

Some flames had jumped north of Route 288 near Whitepine Road, according to fire crews.

There were no injuries, and no structures were impacted by the flames.

At least 75 acres burned in the blaze, and the Department of Forestry assisted in bringing the blaze under control. Virginia State Police were also assisted with the fire fighting effort.
