Police: Man Shot In Head Trying To Stop Robbery

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA—A man who tried to stop an armed robbery at a Colonial Heights convenience store was shot in the head late Sunday night, police said.

It happened around 10:40 p.m. at the 7-Eleven on the corner of Sherwood Drive and North Boulevard.

Police say two suspects, armed with a gun, entered the store and demanded money from the store clerk. A man, who witnessed the incident, entered the store and attempted to stop the suspects, according to police.

The two suspects and the man exchanged gunfire, and the man was struck in the head, police said.

The victim was taken to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition, police said.

The two suspects are described as black males 5'6"- 5'8", 150-160lbs wearing hooded sweatshirts. One of the suspects had his face covered. Both were last seen running south on Boulevard.
