Fourth Suspect In VSU Drownings Turns Self In

Posted: Updated:

Richmond, VA--A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection to the drowning deaths of two Virginia State University students earlier this month.

Charles E. Zollicoffer II turned himself in to police late Monday night. He is facing five counts of hazing in connection to an April 20 incident which left Marvell Edmondson and Jauwan Homes dead.

Edmondson and Holmes both drowned in the Appomattox River during what police say was an initiation into the organization known as Men of Honor. Both VSU students' bodies were later recovered from the river.

According to VSU officials, the Men of Honor organization is not sanctioned or connected to the university.

Three other men, James Mackey Sr., Eriq Benson and Cory Baytop, are also facing five counts of hazing. Police said all four men are affiliated with the Men of Honor group.
