UPDATE: Four People Rescued From James River

Richmond, VA—Four people were pulled from the James River after becoming stranded in the high water Wednesday night.

Three people became stranded in the water around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. A fourth person, who entered the water in an attempt to help rescue the three, was also in distress.

The four were pulled from the water just before 10:30 p.m. near Paxall Point, near south 10th Street, Richmond fire Lt. Robbie Hagaman confirms.

Before they were rescued, the victims could be heard yelling for help, and several individuals had gathered at the river's edge.
