Motorcyclist Killed In Dinwiddie

DINWIDDIE, Va - The deceased driver of the motorcycle has been identified as William V. Aleshin, 70, of the 24000 block of Cutbank Road, McKenny, Va. He was wearing his safety helmet.

The driver of the Hyundai, Robert L. Lawson Jr, 47, of the 20 block of North Linden Avenue, Highland Springs, Va., was charged with reckless driving.
The crash remains under investigation

 

 


 

DINWIDDIE, Va - Virginia State Police is continuing its investigation into a two vehicle fatal crash on Boydton Plank Road at Ford Avenue in Dinwiddie County.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m., May 10, state police responded to the scene after the driver of a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe failed to yield the right-of-way to the driver of a 2005 Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

The driver of the Hyundai and two passengers were not injured in the crash.

The motorcycle rider suffered serious life threatening injuries and was transported to Southside Regional Medical Center where he later died.

Identity of the deceased is pending next of kin notification.

The Virginia State Police Accident Reconstruction Team is assisting with the investigation.

The left lane of both north and southbound Route 1 remain closed to allow for the on-going investigation.
