Lunenburg County, VA—Police confirm that the man who was considered armed and dangerous in connection to a quadruple shooting incident in Lunenburg home Saturday has been captured in Texas.
On the afternoon of May 20, 22-year-old Codarrell Lee Yates was apprehended in Arlington, Texas, according to the Lunenburg Sheriff's Office.
Lunenburg County Sheriffs responded to a home on Pleasant Oak Road at about 1:00 a.m. on May 18. They found four adults males who had been shot. All of the victims were taken to Community Memorial Health Center and then VCU Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
Police say the incident stemmed from a fight at a social gathering inside the Pleasant Oak Road home. During the fight, Yates allegedly retrieved a handgun and shot the four victims.
Yates has been charged with four counts of aggravated malicious wounding, four counts of use of a firearm while committing aggravated malicious wounding, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
A warrant was issued for Yates' arrest, and the Lunenburg Sheriff's Office sought the public's assistance to locate him. Yates is described as a black male, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He was considered to be armed and dangerous.
