Richmond Police ID Man Killed In Southside Shooting

RICHMOND, VA—Police have identified the man found shot to death inside a Southside Richmond home Thursday night.

Rameik A. Nixon, 28, of Richmond, was found shot to death inside a home on Kenswick Avenue, near 18th Street around 6 p.m. Thursday. Richmond Police are investigating Nixon's death as a homicide.

In a second Thursday night shooting, a juvenile was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at an apartment complex off Forest Hill Avenue.

Police say the young victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

Officers do not believed the two shootings are connected. Police have not released any suspect information.
