RICHMOND, VA—Nearly a dozen Richmond middle school students were taken to the hospital after their school bus was rear-ended Thursday afternoon.
Ten students suffered minor injuries and were transported to area hospitals for evaluation, according to Richmond Police.
The students were taken to VCU Medical Center, while others were taken to Chippenham Medical Center.
The bus was rear-ended by a vehicle near the intersection of Hey Road and Hull Street Road just after 3 p.m. Police have charged the driver of that vehicle with failure to yield.
School officials say the bus was transporting students from Elkhardt Middle School to their homes.
