Firefighters are looking for the cause of a fire in Richmond which left an adult female and an infant severely burned.
It happened at the intersection of North 30th and R Streets just before 8 a.m. Tuesday.
According to fire officials, neighbors spotted the fire and ran to the nearby fire station for help. Fire crews arrived on scene to find heavy fire and an adult female on the roof of the porch. Crews rescued her from the roof and found out an infant was still inside the home.
Firefighters were able to find and rescue the infant from a bedroom. Both the child and the woman suffered severe burn injuries and were transported to VCU Medical Center.
