Midlothian Murder Victim Identified

UPDATE from the Chesterfield County Police Department:

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA - The Chesterfield County Police Department has released the identity of a man who was shot and killed in the 600 block of Bristol Village Drive on Thursday, June 27.

At about 4 a.m. today, police responded to the 600 block of Bristol Village Drive for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located Abdelmagied Elsayed Hussein, 32, who was deceased in the parking lot. Hussein, of the 600 block of Bristol Village Drive, had been shot.

 Upon further investigation, police discovered that a vehicle registered to Hussein had been stolen. That vehicle, which had been set on fire, was recovered in the City of Richmond in the Byrd Park area.

Chesterfield Police are investigating a deadly shooting at a Midlothian apartment complex early Thursday morning.

Police were called to the Bristol Village apartments off of Charter Colony Parkway before 4 a.m. Thursday for reports of shot fired. On scene, officers found an adult male dead in the parking lot.

Police said the victim's car was stolen from the scene and later recovered burned out near Byrd Park in Richmond.

At this point, police have not released the identity of the victim. Investigators said they are questioning three possible suspects, but did not provide details or a motive in the case.

"You never think it could happen to you, and living in Midlothian you never think it could happen," said resident Marcus Crawford. "Maybe in Richmond. It's just crazy."

Police remain at the scene investigating. 8News has a crew at the scene and will have updates as they become available.
