Man Injured In Downtown Richmond Shooting

RICHMOND - Richmond Police are investigating after a man was shot in Downtown late Tuesday night.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to the 100 block of South 6th Street for an adult male who had been shot several times around 11 p.m.

The victim was taken to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, there was a birthday party at a hotel and two males, who were guests at the party, got into an argument. A short time later, when the males left the hotel, the shooting occurred outside. Within a few hours, an adult male was taken into custody on unrelated charges and is a person of interest in the case.

This investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it's available.
