RICHMOND, VA— Interstate 95 southbound in Richmond has reopened after being reduced to one lane for much of Thursday.
The right southbound lane of I-95 near the Belvidere exit reopened just before 4 p.m. after crews spent much of the day repairing damage to a metal plate in the road. The left and center lanes were blocked due to the work.
VDOT officials said a metal plate was damaged Thursday morning. It's unclear what caused the damage.
