Spotsylvania, VA—Investigators say they're working to determine if suicide was a possible factor in a fatal plane crash at a Spotsylvania airport Monday evening

The crash happened at the Shannon Airport around 6:30 p.m. Monday. The pilot of the single-engine Cessna 172M airplane was killed in the crash.

The pilot was the only person onboard the plane, which burst into flames after impact.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating the crash, and State Police say they're looking into suicide as a possible factor in the crash.
