RICHMOND, VA - On Thursday, July 25, the first public HIV Testing of youth will be held at Capitol Square from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. and in Carytown by Can Can Restaruant from 12:15 to 1 p.m.
Using the recently approved oral swab home test kits, TeenAIDS and Dr. John Chittick will test consenting older teens 17 and up. A younger teen can be tested if a parent is there to sign permission.
Live testing, while controversial,
helps break the stigma surrounding AIDS among youth especially, and helps get
more people tested.
