Diana Winston Officially Resigns Henrico School Board
HENRICO - Henrico school board
member Diana Winston has resigned from the board effective next Wednesday and
the investigation continues into the relationship between Winston and Henrico
superintendent Patrick Russo.
The school board placed Russo
on paid leave at its meeting last week where Winston reportedly left the meeting
and didn't come back. Winston's husband owns a marketing company and reportedly
did work for the school system and now that relationship is being examined.
"The review will take the
time that's needed," says Dr. Patrick Kenlaw, Deputy Superintendent. "We don't
know how much time that it needs at this point."
Russo is using his accrued
time off while on leave and it is business as usual as the school baord gets
ready for the next school year.
The next school board meeting
is August 22, the day after Winston's resignation becomes official.
