Hanover Businessman Pleads Guilty to Child Sex Crimes

Posted: Updated:
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) - On Tuesday, a Hanover County businessman accused of taking indecent liberties with a minor was in court, facing nine felony counts of sex crimes against a teenage girl.

Charges against Todd Randolph Attkisson, president of Ashland Roller Mills, stem from sexual acts with a teenage girl for more than two years, according to prosecutors.

A grand jury indicted Attkisson on the charges for allegations of acts between November 2008 and January 2011, when the victim was between 15 and 17 years old. On June 3, 2014, Attkisson pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent liberties with a child; the other eight charges were dropped by the prosecutor. He is expected to be sentenced in September.
