RICHMOND - In September, The Gallery at Black Iris Music, located at 321 W Broad St., will feature the first ever GWAR retrospective.
"Let There Be GWAR!" will run from Sept. 6 through Sept. 28 and feature more than 400 objects from GWAR's career. Some of these objects include, but are not limited to arrest reports, lawsuit transcripts and acid drawings. More personal items will be part of the exhibit as well, like molds and members' personal sketchbooks.
The Richmond band, well known for its elaborate horror-inspired costumes, obscene lyrics and graphic stage performances, has been performing for almost 30 years.
The money earned from the exhibit will help fund a book and documentary celebrating GWAR'S 30-year anniversary in 2014.
