Police Respond to Hazardous Situation on VCU Campus

RICHMOND, VA— VCU campus activity returned to normal Wednesday evening after two buildings were evacuated due to a reporter of a hazardous situation.

VCU sent out an alert around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, telling students to avoid the Monroe Park campus near Oliver Hall.

VCU Police received a report of a hazardous material situation in Oliver Hall. Oliver Hall and Temple Hall were evacuated as a precaution.

The Richmond Fire Department responded and no immediate threat to safety was found.

The alert temporarily blocked traffic on Main Street until the situation was resolved.
