at the American Academy of Pediatrics are advising parents
have their kids vaccinated against the flu sooner this year.
Local pharmacist John Beckner says the virus begins to circulate around this
time of year.
And Beckner says now is when you need your child to be protected. He says a
child's likelihood of contracting the flu increases if they aren't vaccinated.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that
all children over the age of 6 months get the vaccine.
The Center for Disease Control reports that 90 percent of the more than 100
children who died from the last flu last season were not vaccinated.
