Former Basketball Star Charged In Hampton Park Robbery, Assault
CHESTERFIELD - Former Cosby High School basketball standout Matt Gorski is behind bars, facing more than a dozen charges including attempted murder.
Police said he robbed and assaulted two individuals inside a Hampton Crossing Court residence around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Gorski was arrested a short time later during a traffic stop. He is facing a total of 13 charges, including burglary, robbery, malicious wounding and attempted capital murder.
Gorski is being held without bond.
"These were kids at home doing their homework and things like that in the afternoon," says Lt. Dave Shand. "They should have been free to go about their business and things like this happen it's very disturbing."
Gorski was a three star rated recruit by ESPN and played at the University
Of Illinois at Chicago before being dismissed for violating team rules.
